Chuck and Aaron just opened their new location, a beer store called Provisions in North Oakland. For those of you already familiar with their downtown location, simply called the Trappist, you know what kind of beer they serve: nothing cheap, nothing common, nothing crappy. This place is a beer church. Unlike The Trappist, you can buy bottles here.
Steve is the manager, a great guy who will steer you in the right direction if you get confused by Dutch names like I do.
Artist John Casey. His art graces the walls. Two large pieces: Hoppy Bear and Barley Bison.
Chef Fred Sassen, who makes the delicious, pictured duck and pork pâté is opening his new restaurant Homestead, on Piedmont Ave. next month.
That is Aaron, one of the owners, on the label of Evil Twins new brew.
