“What would John Muir do?” One of my favorite John Muir anecdotes is the history of Tahoe National Park. After Yosemite and Sequoia, Mr. Muir turned his sites to establishing permanent, federal protection for the deepest, highest alpine lake in the world: Lake Tahoe. He proposed a National Park that rivaled Yosemite in size. Can you imagine how awesome that would be?! As you know, it didn’t come to pass, but we did get the National Forest Service out of that fight. We aren’t done making National Parks in California and we here at Juniper Ridge are proud to help in the fight to preserve our beautiful, public wildernesses. Happy Earth Day everyone.
